Accepted Files and Media

MAC AND PC PLATFORM

Oldest acceptable programs for both the Mac and PC include: Pagemaker 7.0, Illustrator 10, Photoshop 6 and InDesign. PDF files are also accepted, but we cannot be responsible for PDF files that are prepared incorrectly, as we have no way of knowing or fixing wrong PDFs. See the file requirements below for a good start.

MEDIA

CD and Floppy Disk are accepted. You may also upload a file HERE, (preferred) or email us here with small attachments. Any image over 30 megabites should not be uploaded, but put on a disk and sent. Email attachments should be no larger than 1 megabite. Please stuff or zip all files when uploading or emailing.

FILE REQUIREMENTS

- A hard copy proof MUST be sent along with the electronic file so we can compare what comes out on this end to your intentions.

- The page layout file or final file must be in correct proportion to the final piece. On the Shore ad sizes are listed here.

- All images (links) MUST be included on the disk. These images must be saved as a TIF or EPS format and converted to CMYK not RGB. All solid black elements should be built in CMYK as C30, M20, Y0, K100 to provide a strong four color black. Small elements, such as type, should NOT be this rich type, just K100.

- All images should be scanned or saved at 300dpi. Any image saved below this resolution will not print clear and crisp.

- Please do not use an automatic numbering system, automatic bullet system (please use a font for bullets) or an automatic page layout (please set up the spreads accordingly).

PDF files MUST be saved in CMYK.

FONT REQUIREMENTS

- All fonts used in the document MUST be included on the disk.

- Please convert all fonts to outlines, paths or curves whenever possible.

- Embed all fonts in PDFs.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTING ART TO BE SCANNED

If you are sending art that we need to scan and place into a document you must provide a clear black & white or color flat piece of art. If the art is an ad or logo, please provide it as large as possible to fit on an 81/2 x 11 piece of paper. This will help to capture the detail.

NOTE: IF YOUR DOCUMENT IS ALREADY DESIGNED AND ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET, WE STILL WILL NEED TIME TO PREPARE YOUR FILE FOR OUR SYSTEM. PLEASE PREPARE FOR THIS TIME IN YOUR SCHEDULE.
